A local multiplayer game for 2-4 players, with a variety of maps and game modes.
You can only shoot when you're plugged into a socket, which has limited range & ammo.
Turn a client's prototype into a game to test out the idea, with certain restriction. Such as having to keep the game strategic, while also being fun and chaotic.
I took the role of
lead developer & technical designer.
Because of my diverse background I took a very central role between
the client, the artists, and the other developers.
Explaining design ideas to both artists & programmers, as well as helping with communication between them.
Because you can only shoot when you're plugged in, players will naturally want to stay near plugs. But that leads to spawn camping.
By making it so weapons & abilities would spawn away from the plugs, this creates a risk/reward system that also felt strategic. Since plugged in players would be able to shoot you.
