I participated & won in an Xbox Gamecamp with my friends. This was a 3 day real life gamejam with 30 teams. We won in our category as well as best overall. I took the role as lead developer & technical designer.
Along with 4 friends I participated in a 3 day, in person, game jam called
Xbox Gamecamp.
We had to make a game in 3 days to create a game based on 1 of 3 categories.
We won in our category (minesweeper) as well as best overall.
I took the role of lead developer
& technical designer.
Before the gamejam I gave the team 1 goal, finish the game in the first day and a half. Then we could focus the rest of our time on purely polishing the game. This meant that my main focus as developer wasn't to cram in features, but to make the basic features, such as exploding windows & movement, feel flawless. It's because of our scaled down version of making a full game, that we were able to win the competition.
Made windows explode & their colliders change using boolean logic
Implemented character movement and physics
Polished all player facing systems to feel smooth
Coordinated team efforts design & programming wise
